Psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWPs) are trained to assess and support people with common mental health problems, principally anxiety disorders and depression in the self-management of their recovery.

PWPs work for Kirklees Talking Therapies, using a range of psychological interventions and skills to support individuals with mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. PWPs work closely with other healthcare professionals including cognitive behavioural therapists, counsellors, adult psychotherapists and employment advisers.

1 in 4 of us experience problems with our psychological (mental) wellbeing at some points in our lives.

Life changing events like losing a job, an accident, the loss of a loved one, a traumatic incident or even just moving house can lead to feelings that can be hard to cope with. Sometimes, there may be no event that has triggered how we are feeling…

You do not need to try and cope on your own. If you live in Kirklees and are over the age of 17, the NHS Kirklees Talking Therapies service can help.

If you would wish to use this service you can self refer below or speak to your GP for more information.
